Although a majority of my clients and couples choose to celebrate their wedding right here in Syracuse, New York, I do have the amazing opportunity to be a destination wedding photographer every once in a while! Jenn and Tyler had reached out to me after they got engaged and mentioned how they were planning their intimate Cabo San Lucas wedding. I could already envision the dreamy bridal portraits on Cabo’s sandy white beaches and clear blue waters; I was thrilled they wanted to hire me as their destination wedding photographer!
A Destination Wedding in Cabo San Lucas
We touched down in Cabo San Lucas for a fantastic wedding week – that’s right, week! Jenn and Tyler chose to get married this spring in Cabo San Lucas with their closest friends and family, but it wasn’t your typical destination wedding. Jenn and Tyler’s Cabo wedding took place on a Wednesday, and they had planned a week of festivities with their closest friends and family to celebrate their love.

Not only will you be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and beaches, but you’ll also experience some of the most delicious food and stunning weather! Cabo San Lucas was paradise, and I am so glad that Jenn and Tyler asked me to be document their entire week on the island.

A Mid-Week Wedding
Who says weddings have to take place during the weekend? This destination was the most fun wedding week EVER! Because friends and family were traveling from out of town to celebrate with the happy couple, Jenn and Tyler wanted to ensure they had various events for their guests to attend and celebrate with them.
Guests were invited to their welcome party on Monday to start the week. They were offered delicious drinks and appetizers – an excellent way for everyone to catch up and settle after a day of travel. Following the welcome party, everyone gathered for a casual rehearsal dinner on Tuesday. Friends and family shared favorite moments and toasts and soaked in the moments before the main event – the wedding!
On the white sandy beaches of Cabo San Lucas with the rolling clear blue waves behind them, Jenn and Tyler said, “I do!” with their favorite people surrounding them. It was such a memorable evening. Being a part of weddings like Jenn and Tyler’s is what makes being a destination wedding photographer so special. There are intimate moments that you can’t quite get with a grand wedding celebration, and I am obsessed with the fact that they could spend quality time with every one of their guests and treat the entire event like an escape to paradise.
