About two and a half years ago I officially started my own photography business, and immediately got a message from Ali and Joe. They were recently engaged and looking for a Syracuse wedding photographer! I was thrilled, they were the first couple to book me for a wedding through my own business. Seriously, I could not have been happier!
The Gorgeous Couple
To make things even better, Ali and Joe happen to be the absolute sweetest couple. They were so kind, thankful, and encouraging throughout our time spent together. From booking, to the engagement session, to the romantic wedding and gallery delivery. I honestly am so thankful for them. Their wedding day was so special for me, one I will remember forever.
Wedding days that flow the way Ali and Joe’s did are unforgettable. Truly, iconic moments happen on days like theirs! These two are the most gorgeous couple and I adored watching them as they shared their vows with teary eyes. Their closest friends and family surrounded them on an extremely hot day in Syracuse but no one was phased. Everyone in attendance was thankful to watch their favorite people tie the knot and form memories to last a lifetime.
Ali and Joe are hopelessly in love, romantic, and were SO ready to get married! Personally, I was thankful that a majority of their wedding day took place indoors because it was sweltering! Water was my BFF on this day, haha. I love how Ali and Joe weren’t phased by anything that happened on their day, even the heat. They were willing to embrace the unpredictability of this day and leaned into their creative romantic vibe. It was so much fun to watch everything unfold from start to finish.
The Unforgettable Wedding Day
To start out the day, we met up at St. Cecilia Church in Syracuse, NY. It was stunning! I honestly am so obsessed with the shots I captured of Ali and Joe’s ceremony, especially those images of the entire room. After the ceremony, we hopped on a trolley bus and headed to Onondaga Park and Clinton Square for bridal portraits. We had a BLAST! Ali, Joe, and their bridal party were getting the party started as we drove through town. Finally, we made it back to the Marriott in downtown Syracuse where we had spent the morning getting ready. The reception hall at the Marriott was dressed and ready for our beautiful couple and their guests.
Ali and Joe leaned into the timeless romantic style, and it worked beautifully in the reception hall of the Marriott. The space itself already has a very vintage-romance feel with cathedral elements, and it was honestly incredible to see how well it matched the style of St. Cecilia Church. We shot a majority of the wedding gallery on film and honestly, I am so obsessed with the way the photos turned out. The timeless romance really shined through on the Porta 400 film.
As guests celebrated Ali and Joe, it was clear that this wedding day was special. Everything leading up to this day felt destined, even the beginning of Ali and Joe’s love story. Ali’s mom is a dental hygienist and worked at the office where Joe was a patient. The next thing they knew, Ali and Joe were in love! Wonderful stories about the couple were shared throughout the night and some hilarious newly-wed games were played. Everything was thought through perfectly and felt absolutely perfect.
I will always remember Ali and Joe’s wedding day and how special it was to me. There are many moments in my career that I cherish, and my first wedding under my own photography business is absolutely one of those.
